RADFORD, Va. —The manager of an automotive shop enlisted the help of several auto specialists to repair and upgrade the car of a Radford University student that was vandalized four times. The student believed he was targeted for being gay.
Homophobic slurs and other hateful phrases were keyed into the side of the car, causing $2,500 in damage, Yahoo! News reports. Richard Henegar Jr., manager of Quality Auto Paint and Body, and 10 other businesses gave Jordan Addison’s car $10,000 in upgrades.
Addison said the car was keyed both when it was parked at his home and on campus.
