Administrators at a Colorado high school held an emergency meeting with parents to address unfolding details about a sexting scandal that could affect hundreds of students.
In the Nov. 5 meeting, Canon City High School officials revealed new details about the ongoing investigation, which has been turned over to police.

After receiving an anonymous tip, school administrators began inspecting phones that were turned over voluntarily and discovered the scale and severity of the scandal. The sexting operation involved hundreds of students collecting and trading explicit pictures of themselves and others, according to CBS News.
Some of the students involved are only in eighth grade and felony charges may be brought against many students. In most cases, the photos were hidden on phones from parents using stealth photo apps.
Police continue to gather evidence and warrants to search phones.
