MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Congratulations to University of Tennessee Health Science Center Chief of Police Anthony Berryhill for being named one of this year’s higher education Campus Safety Director of the Year finalists.

Here are some of his notable achievements:

  • Structured officer compensation in such a way that when combined with the university’s benefits package, department salaries remained competitive.
  • Department accredited by Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA), and Tennessee Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (TLEA).
  • Adopted an AI-based software solution designed to recognize signals of potential harm found in digital communications, such as organization-owned emails and public social media posts.
