BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – A shooting occurred Tuesday night in the cafeteria of the University of Bridgeport (UB). It happened at about 6:30 p.m. when two men got into an argument, possibly over a woman. Both of the men are not UB students and were visiting the campus at the time of the incident.
Police were called to the Marina Dining Hall after receiving a report of shots being fired, reports NBC Connecticut. The officers encountered the victim, who was then transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Local law enforcement says the victim and person of interest knew each other and there was no immediate threat to campus, reports WTNH.
Authorities are now searching for Dylan Cruz-Tillery, 18, who they are describing as a person of interest. They believe he has fled UB’s campus and may be in New York.
Although a warrant for Cruz-Tillary’s arrest hasn’t been obtained by police, he could face first-degree assault charges, reports The Patch.
UB Campus Placed on Lockdown for Nearly 12 Hours
UB’s campus went into lockdown when the shots were fired. The lockdown remained in place until 5:45 a.m. the following morning, reports the CT Post.
UB normally doesn’t allow visitors into its dining hall unless there are sporting events. However, on the evening of the shooting, soccer and basketball games were being played.
