Update: Police have made two arrests in the shooting but continue to search for suspects.
A shooting that occurred around class dismissal time Tuesday in front of a San Francisco campus left four students injured.
San Francisco Unified School District officials confirmed the incident occurred around 3:17 p.m. in the parking lot of June Jordan School for Equity and City Arts and Tech High School, which share a campus.
Three of the victims, all June Jordan students, were reportedly shot in the parking lot then ran back into the school. One female victim is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. A fourth student was identified as a victim hours later when he arrived at the Bayview police station, reports CBS SF Bay Area.
Police responded immediately because there were several witnesses to the incident as parents were on campus picking up their children. Officers initially thought it was an active shooter incident because the victims were in the school building.

Police did a room by room search of the building and told residents to stay inside as they searched the surrounding area. Around 4 p.m., SFPD declared the school safe and lifted the lockout.
A San Francisco Police Department spokesman says officers believe one student was targeted in the shooting and the other victims were innocent bystanders.
Four males are suspected in the shooting.
