Counselor Uses Camera Phone to Photograph Female Students

Published: April 27, 2011

BROCKTON, Mass. — A counselor at Brockton High School was charged Tuesday with criminal harassment and accosting a person of the opposite sex. Galen L. Stone gave candy to girls sitting at a cafeteria table and allegedly photographed their chests with his camera phone as the girls picked up the candy.

The girls Stone photographed confronted him and reported the incident to administrators, Enterprise News reports. Prosecutors said an investigation revealed many more photos and videos of women’s chests on Stone’s phone, apparently taken without their knowledge.

Stone has been on leave since March 29 when the students complained that he had taken pictures of them. Judge Michael J. Pomarole barred Stone from unsupervised contact with minors, which will prevent him from working at his second job as a counselor for adolescent boys.

Stone was released on $500 bail. He is due back in court on June 30.
