Dad Gets Restraining Order Against Son’s 4th Grade Classmate

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — A fourth grade student and the Jurupa Unified School District were served with a temporary restraining order requiring that the student stay at least 20 feet away from another student he had allegedly threatened with a knife.

Robert Casteel sought the restraining order on behalf of his son Christopher, who was afraid to go to school, ABC News reports. Casteel called the police after the alleged threat was made; police found a small pocket knife on the boy and he was suspended from school for five days.

A judge will review the case Feb. 8 to see if the restraining order will be permanent. The order is difficult to enforce, as it involves a young student and school grounds.
