Family Suspects Stepmother in 2nd Grader’s Disappearance

Published: July 11, 2010

PORTLAND, Ore.—The parents of the 7-year-old Skyline Elementary School student who went missing in June believe the child’s stepmother has something to do with his disappearance.

Kyron Horman, was last seen walking around the school with his stepmother Terri Horman around 8:45 a.m. on June 7. Terri suffered from post-partum depression after the birth of her 19-month-old daughter and often behaved erratically, Kaine Horman, Terri’s estranged husband, told ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Kaine Horman said police allegedly told him they had evidence that Terri had hired someone to kill him. Two weeks after learning the information, Kaine moved out with his daughter and filed for divorce. He was also granted an emergency restraining order to keep his wife away from him and their daughter.

For her part, Terri Horman has denied any involvement in Kyron’s disappearance. She has not been charged; however, an investigation is ongoing.
