Georgia State U. Amps Up Patrols After Spike in Robberies

ATLANTA — A recent spate of robberies have prompted campus police at Georgia State University (GSU) to increase patrols on campus.

There have been three student robberies in the past month, reports MyFoxAtlanta.com. In the latest incident, a student was assaulted and robbed when he was coming out of a first floor restroom at the Classroom South Building. Video surveillance cameras captured two men running from the scene with the victim’s backpack.

In addition to increased patrols, campus police are encouraging students to utilize the campus safety escort program when walking anywhere on campus at night.
