SHAKOPEE, Minn.—An 18-year-old Shakopee High School student has been arrested on suspicion of raping one of his female classmates.
Angel Pablo Torres Jr. allegedly asked a 17-year-old female student last week to leave class with him to get a drink of water, reports inforum.com. According to police, she left with him because she formerly was his friend.
Once they were outside, Torres grabbed her by the wrist and took her into the boys’ locker room where he sexually assaulted her in a handicapped stall. The incident took about 20 minutes.
The female student then immediately reported the attack to a school resource officer, who reviewed security camera video, which showed Torres taking his classmate into the boys’ locker room and leaving 20 minutes later. A medical examination of the victim at a local hospital confirmed that she had injuries consistent with rape.
Torres was then arrested, and if convicted, could receive a 30-year prison sentence.
