ALBANY, Ga. — An Albany State University student is recovering from a gunshot wound she received on campus Aug. 18 at the Phoebe Putney Hospital.
Trey Walker, 19, turned himself into police after he saw them conducting gang raids and mistakenly thought they were closing in on him for the shooting, WALB reports. He then admitted to the shooting.
The shooting occurred when the victim attempted to purchase discount party tickets from Walker, a non-student, who then brandished a gun and tried to rob her. She was shot in the thigh during the subsequent fight.
