A professor at the University of Southern California was killed Friday after police say a student fatally stabbed him in a building on campus.
Professor Bosco Tjan was pronounced dead by the Los Angeles Police Department after USC officers briefly attempted to revive him, according to ABC News.
The suspected attacker, 28-year-old USC graduate student David Jonathan Brown, was arrested at the scene and is being held on a $1 million bond.
USC police said they believe the attack was targeted and the safety of the campus was not in question.

The LAPD was called around 4:30 p.m. Friday to the Seeley G. Mudd Building on campus for a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds and the building was briefly locked down.
Tjan was a professor of psychology that worked with graduate students and oversaw their work. Professor Tjan was described as a mentor to Brown by USC colleagues and the USC Department of Public Safety has said investigators believe the attack was the result of a personal dispute, reports CNN.
USC President C.L. Max Nikias said in a statement that Tjan, 50, had been a member of the USC faculty since 2001 and was an expert in perception, vision and cognition.
Classes resumed Monday and counseling services are being offered to the campus community.
