Central Community College (CCC) in Nebraska has multiple campuses and educational centers that serve approximately 90 different communities. On one campus alone, there are 26 buildings with access control needs for students, staff, and vendors.
However, CCC’s outdated lock-and-key system and access control technology wasn’t meeting its security needs. The college’s security team had to provide targeted, scheduled access control for about 15 different user groups.
To address these challenges, CCC turned to Brivo, the pioneer in cloud-based access control.
“From past experience, we knew that great technical support, customer service, and quick turnaround time is important,” said CCC Physical Plant Director Ed Long.
Brivo was up to the challenge, installing cloud-based security on the campuses. The new system allows CCC to create and manage hundreds of groups with different access privileges. Dorms are locked 24/7 with controlled access to provide a high level of security for students, and an extra measure of security is provided with limited-access holiday scheduling.
CCC’s security team can also provide controlled access for vendors to come and go from different buildings, and the new Brivo system enables the college to scale their access control across all of CCC’s facilities when the need arises.
“We’re completely satisfied with Brivo, as [the new security system] can scale to whatever and wherever we need,” said Long.
He adds that learning the new technology was “short and sweet.”
Brivo’s new cloud system has given CCC administrators confidence that they have an effective security and safety plan in place.
